We are looking for a Business Manager to join our exceptional Corporate department. This is a really interesting role that spans legal and business professional activity, with the aim to provide holistic solutions and innovative ideas that contribute to the smooth running and growth of the Corporate team.

The Business Manager, plays a pivotal role in aligning the department with the firm's strategic objectives. You will work closely with the Head of Department (HoD) to optimise productivity and profitability, acting as a conduit between the HoD, departmental partners, and business professional colleagues. Your responsibilities will include:

Financial hygiene: Collaborate with the Finance Business Partner to review departmental profitability, support monthly billing targets, and lead budget setting processes.
Cultural initiatives: Work with the People Advisory Business Partner on wellbeing, retention, and engagement initiatives.
Resourcing activity: Manage aspects of lateral Partner onboarding plans and integration. Support departmental workforce planning and monitor productivity levels.
Operational Excellence: Champion technology upskilling, support risk policy rollouts, and act as a central point for project rollouts and change initiatives.
Strategic operations: supporting the Department's approach to setting and implementing its growth strategy.

What we need from you: We are looking for a resourceful and engaging individual with the following qualities:

  • Commercially astute, financially literate with a strategic mindset
  • Experienced in change management and developing innovative solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage senior stakeholders effectively and operate in a partnership environment
  • “Join the dots” and bring together colleagues across both legal and business professional areas to collaborate effectively
