We are on the search for a Content Manager to join us on a permanent basis. This is an exciting new role within the Marketing Team, created to contribute to supporting Burges Salmon in its continued and strategic growth.

Working closely with our Head of Pursuits, Head of Business Development and Head of Marcomms, you will be responsible for:

  • Writing, reviewing and editing proposal content for tenders across the firm.
  • Line management of a Content Assistant, working closely with them to create a content management system for all content types, as well as maintaining up-to-date best practice content.
  • Collaborating with lawyers to produce content across a variety of sectors and specialisms, as well as training and upskilling lawyers on best practice tender writing.
  • Supporting strategic opportunities and embedding best practice processes.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the pursuit process in response to procurement-driven tenders.
  • Developing an acute awareness of pursuit best practice and escalating where appropriate.
  • Resolving challenges and managing feedback, in an efficient way, to minimise overall impact to project management plans.

To be successful as our Content Manager, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience and confidence as a writer, with evidence of producing quality written content for example: bid writing, sales case studies, briefings, webpage content, award content or internal/external communication materials.
  • A self-starter who is methodical, organised, and ability to adapt approach and style according to business need.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism, diplomacy and tact at all times, preferably with line management experience.
  • The ability to manage conflicting priorities and be flexible in adapting to change.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills developed through a combination of higher education studies and/or employment.
  • Dedication to building and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Commercial awareness and commitment to continuous improvement.
