We have a brand new opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Environment Manager to join our team at Burges Salmon, working on a hybrid basis. As an Environmental Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the firm meets our environmental commitments and complies with regulations. We are looking for a passionate self starter to own and drive sustainability initiatives across the firm. What you'll be doing:
- Enable the firm to meet regulatory and client requirements for environmental planning, performance, and evidence.
- Progress the firm's Environmental Strategy, Environmental Management System (EMS), performance, reporting, and ISO 14001 certification.
- Respond to growing client demand related to environmental performance, including providing evidence for pitches, tenders, and social value.
- Deliver significant progress toward our Net Zero commitment, aligned with Science-Based Targets.
- Complete environmental disclosures and reporting (e.g., CDP, Carbon Reduction Plan, Eco Vadis assessment).
- Lead the Environment Committee, setting direction, analysing data, and delivering actions.
- Engage with clients, represent the firm in external forums, and communicate our environmental achievements.
- Collaborate with Procurement and supply chain to achieve Scope 3 carbon emission reduction and ESG targets.
- Work closely with Building Management teams to identify energy-saving opportunities.
- Minimise environmental risks and maximise opportunities across our project portfolio.
What we need from you:
- Qualified environmental professional (e.g., ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, Environmental Management IEMA or equivalent).
- Desirable knowledge of carbon-related reporting frameworks (CDP and TCFD).
- Desirable experience in professional services or a similar environment.
- Strong influencing, presenting and stakeholder management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, including report writing.
- Strategic thinking combined with attention to detail.
- Proficient in data management and analysis.
- Project management expertise.
