We are looking for a qualified UK Trade Mark Attorney (2 – 6 years PQE) to join our market leading Intellectual Property team, which is considered the equal of the finest London practices in terms of resources as well as talent” (Chambers 2023).

The Team

Our experienced IP team comprises a mix of lawyers and UK and EU trade mark attorneys.  It is ranked in the top tier by both Chambers and Legal 500, and is recognised nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities

You will work within a close-knit team managing an enviable roster of portfolios from some of the biggest global brands.  The role is varied and interesting.  You will advise a broad range of clients on clearance, filing strategy, portfolio management and registry proceedings, as well as assisting with business development and client relationship management. 

  • Management of trade mark portfolios including trade mark clearance advice and advice on filing strategy.
  • Trade mark prosecution including handling registry disputes, advising on strategy and settlement, legal submissions and witness evidence.
  • Assignment and recordal projects.
  • Managing the instruction and work of foreign attorneys.
  • Providing cost estimates and working to budgets.
  • Contributing to business development and client relationships.

What you'll need
  • Relevant experience managing an array of trade mark portfolios
  • Be a strong team player, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage a complex and varied workload effectively
  • Be self-motivated and willing to learn
  • Experience of helping others to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Must be a Chartered Trademark Attorney, with at least two years' experience
